Steamboat Soccer Club names Linda John as next director

John has previously served as the clubs Director of Coaching.



The Steamboat Soccer Club (SSC) Board of Director's couldn't be more excited to announce that Linda John has accepted our offer to become the next Club Director. Linda previously served as the Director of Coaching for SSC, coordinates the coaching staff within the competitive program, coaches several competitive teams and is extensively involved in the operations of the organization, including the management of all club related social media platforms. Linda has been an integral part of our staff since 2014 and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and expertise.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Linda joined the SSC after a successful coaching career at both the club and collegiate levels in West Virginia, Maryland, and Colorado. After an accomplished playing career at West Virginia Wesleyan College, she returned as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at her alma mater (1997-2000). Her 1997 team finished second at the NCAA National Division II Finals with Linda earning the NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year. She also had the opportunity to serve on several NCAA national, regional and conference committees.

After moving to Colorado and starting a family, Linda coached for Westminster AFC, Colorado Xtreme, and Golden High School, before making her way to Steamboat Springs and joining the Steamboat Soccer Club in 2014.

In May 2023, Linda was inducted into the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame, her fifth Hall of Fame Induction as either a player and/or coach.
